That the ELECTED might never form to themselves an interest
separate from the ELECTORS, prudence will point out the
    propriety of having elections often.

This Day in History - March 19, 2003: George W. Bush Declares War on Iraq, Citing "Proof" of WMDs

"Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof the smoking gun that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud.”

- George W. Bush
Republican Warmonger, Lying to The American People

"My colleagues, every statement I make today is backed up by sources, solid sources. These are not assertions. What we’re giving you are facts and conclusions based on solid intelligence.”

- Colin Powell
Republican Warmonger, Lying to The American People and
The United Nations General Assembly

"The area in the south and the west and the north that coalition forces control is substantial. It happens not to be the area where weapons of mass destruction were dispersed. We know where they are. They’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.”

- Donald Rumsfeld
Republican Warmonger, Lying to The American People

Just a reminder of the lack of humanity in this Republican Party, here’s video of Old Blood-for-Oil Bush in 2004, joking — JOKING — about the fact that no WMDs were ever found in Iraq:

Now, it’s March 19, 2012 and we have:

"If the Iranians are permitted to get the bomb, the consequences will be as uncontrollable as they are horrendous. My foreign policy plan to avert this catastrophe is plain: Either the ayatollahs will get the message, or they will learn some very painful lessons about the meaning of American resolve.”

- Mitt Romney
Republican Presidential Candidate and Warmonger

"I would also point out that a Gingrich presidency would communicate publicly to the Iranians that if they continue to do what they’re doing, they should expect to get hit, and it will be their fault for having caused it.”

- Newt Gingrich
Republican Presidential Candidate and Warmonger

"Once [Iran has] a nuclear weapon, let me assure you, you will not be safe, even here in Missouri.”

- Sick Rantorum
Republican Presidential Candidate and Warmonger

Speaking of Ole Frothy Mix, just a reminder that in 2006, while still a Senator from Pennsylvania, Santorum called a press conference to announce:

"Congressman Hoekstra and I are here today to say that we have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq."

- Sick Rantorum
Republican Warmonger

That same day, a Bush Administration official disavowed Santorum’s blatant lie, telling FOX News* Jim Angle flatly that the munitions hyped by Santorum and Hoekstra were “not the WMD’s for which this country went to war.”

A few months later, Santorum lost his Senatorial reelection bid by a staggering 18 points.
